Saturday evening during the months of May through October. Members of
the Chippewa Valley Astronomical Society offer guided tours of the
evening sky beginning at the following times.
May 9:00 PM to midnight
June 10:00 PM to
midnight
July 10:00 PM to
midnight
August 9:00 PM
to midnight
September 9:00 PM to
midnight
*Lecture Series and Telescopes:
The third Saturday of every month beginning at 8:00 PM with the
exception of December. These are generally presented by members of
the Chippewa Valley Astronomical Society. Public viewing if the skies
are clear follows the presentations.

May 21, Bob Elliott - "Measuring the Size of the Universe"
June 18, Jim Elbert - "An Astronomical Travel Log"
July 16, Tom Butler - "Mount Palomar"
August 5th and 6th are the dates of the annual Starfest.
*Private Programs: Available for
private groups such as educational (k-12), college , scouts, church,
family, etc. Presented by the Coordinator of Hobbs Observatory and
other members of the Chippewa Valley Astronomical Society . Programs
generally start with a welcome to the observatory followed by a short
introduction of the equipment to be used and the objects to be viewed
that evening. Special presentations such as constellations, solar
system, deep sky object and astrophotography are some of which can be
arranged by special request. If the sky turns cloudy an alternative
program can be presented on the night sky or other selected topics in
astronomy upon request. To schedule the use of the observatory for
